These paintings confronted with their digital drawings present a city without stock, where the goods of the storefronts have disappeared giving way to flat areas rather than signs. The use of the three mediums of photography, painting or digital drawing has been accompanied by decisions producing paradoxical photorealistic effects which end up abstracting the photographic referent. These visuals create a flat and smooth, almost icy atmosphere, letting shadow appear without modeling or intermediate value. From these formats there emerges a narrative vision that borrows the principle of the snapshot from the photographic cliché. We could compare this vision which is both disturbing and utopian, we could compare this vision to that offered by Antonioni at the start of his film Blow-Up, in a city devoid of any commercial visuals.
